Ashfields confirm player signings and relaunch website

Ashfields Polocrosse club have now confirmed their new signings for the 2009 season and also relaunched their club with a brand new website, www.ashfieldspolocrosse.com.

On the player front, Ashfields have stated that they have signed four A grades for the 2009 season, Kim Lampard, Nigel Lackford and Kerry Bean all come from Kent Target while the fourth is Greg Barnet who last played for Pendle Wildcats in 2007 before concentrating more on polo in 2008. It is thought his close friend Kim Lampard might have been influential in persuading him to return to polocrosse.

In addition to signing players Ashfields have been signing up sponsors; they recently got the BMW dealership, Stansted Elms, to support them and they now (like Manchester City before them) have Middle Eastern backers with Multiplata, the Dubai based property investment company, also on board.

With the further news this week that they have won the bidding process to host the UK versus South Africa test matches in 2009 it would seem that Ashfields are set for a busy season in 2009.
