World
Cup Fever Approaches! |
So the England cricket team managed to leave Australia with some pride and a trophy after snatching victory from the jaws of total humiliation in the one day test series, going on a four match unbeaten run to clinch the title. They did admitedly then nearly get mugged at knife point in their hotel (Australians really hate losing) but that is besides the point! So a quick tally of all the important trophies between the UK and Australia! The Ozzies have the Ashes, we have the Rugby World Cup and now the Commonwealth Bank Cricket Series (a.k.a the tri nations of one day cricket). Most importantly of all though, the Ozzies have the Polocrosse World Cup and are the favourites to hold on to it too! Therefore, we are looking at how those of you who are travelling to the World Cup can help swing the balance in the favor of the UK! |

Firstly there is wearing the correct attire so as to inspire the UK team and scare the opposition into submission. This sort of attire can be purchase from the UK official world cup site and includes polo shirts, hoodies, shorts, caps and even kagools (just in case it rains!) All these items and more can be found by clicking on this link: http://www.geocities.com/poloxworldcup/barmyarmy |

The second thing to do to is to sing! Warcrys have been an integral part of battles for many hundreds of years and singing songs while at sporting events is just an continuation on this theme! Below are some of the songs sung by the cricket Barmy Army but I'm sure they won't mind us borrowing them! If anyone can think of any other, either ones encouraging our team (or particular players) or less encouraging ones about the opposition, please let me know! And if any of the opposition want to let me know what they intend to sing back please let me know as well! Convict Colony You Can Sing Sod All Ball and Chain (To the tune of "The
