UKPA and Polocrosse Extreme Leagues' final positions announced

The final remaining tournament results for the 2008 season have been collected and input into the league calculations, the league has been checked and checked again for errors and any mistakes have now hopefully been corrected! All this now means that the champions for 2008 can be announced!

In the main league it is Pennine who emerge triumphant as they move comfortably above Arden due to the final few tournament results. Pennine and Arden have both performed well all year at all grades though perhaps in the end one of the key areas was the juniors teams. Both clubs have 4 and a half juniors grade wins to their name but Pennine also have 4 second places whereas Arden only have 1. Last years winners Kent are back in third place. These are the three biggest clubs in the country and it is not suprising to see them dominate in the main league. Solent finish in fourth place, which they must be delighted with as it is only their second season as a polocrosse club.

In the league according to size (of clubs) it is Centaur who grab
the top spot but only by 1.53 points per club player from Solent,
who again must be delighted with this position in only their second season. Northern Lion Crusaders finish in third place with an average of 11.9 points per player, just 0.16 points per player behind Solent. All three of these clubs are small and specialise in playing particular grades. Centaurs main strength comes in the D grade and the Juniors while Solent target bothe the D and the E grades. Northern Lion Crusaders opt for a different approach, winning most of their points in the A and B grades.

The National A grade champions Highlanders are in fourth spot with the main league winners Pennine in fifth. Pennine are the first of the big three clubs to feature in these league, with Arden down in seventh and Kent in eighth.
