Zambia announce annual awards and new committee

The Zambia polocrosse association held their annual awards dinner and AGM on the 8th of January at Leopards Hill polocrosse club. The club house was decorated in black with silver stars and the evening featured a stunning musical horse light show. Zambia are getting ready for a couple of important years in the world of polocrosse as they prepare to play at their first ever world cup in 2011.

The awards for the 2009 seaosn were as follows:-

Best man - Scholtz Nel

Best lady - Laura Watson

Best Junior - Carla Nel

Most improved adult - Liam Gibson

Most improved junior - Syen Entjes

Most valuable player - Gary Dodd

Best Junior Sports person - Brenda Finnaughty

Best Horse - Tswelela (owned by Laura Watson)

Best Tournament - Zim Zam Juniors Lusaka South

Best Club - Leopards Hill

Chairman Cup - Doug Evans

The AGM resulted in the election of a new executive committee, who are as follows:-

Chairman - Harry Entjes

Vice Chairman - Ross Michelson

Treasurer - Justin Bird

Secretary - Elly Van Der Vinne

National Selector - Doug Evans

National Umpire - Nick Beckett

National Handicapper - Andrew Daniels
