At present Shay Williams is in the UK raising money for his sister who requires medical treatment back in New Zealand. During the Saturday night party at Liscombe tournament a very successful slave auction was held which raised £4,000. The highlights of this were Richard Chapple's wonderful auctioneering (before he was stripped naked and sold at the end for a mere £310, someone got a bargain!) and Shay Williams himself being bought for £1,000 by Paul Rodgers (though exactly Paul wants him for is unclear). Unfortunately I do not have an photos of the event which is a great shame, if anyone has any send them to me!

The fundraising doesn't end there; Shay is holding a raffle in which you can win a buckskin stockhorse from the Lee bloodline. Tickets are £100 and can be bought from Shay in every tournament up to the Nationals. There is not only a horse up for grabs, other prizes include:

-Martin Brookes (Equine Dentist) doing six sets of teeth for free (preferably horse's teeth but if you have very bad tootache...)

-Uncle Pete shoeing two horses for free

-A broodmare in foal

There were also some other very good prizes which I can't remember right now, if anyone else can please email me and tell me.

Also at present the UK squads are fundraising and one way you can help them is to purchase a disc of photos of Liscombe tournament. All the photos on the website were taken by Tony Peckham and he spent the entire tournament going around and taking photos of lots of matches. He is a wonderful photographer (as you can see) and some of the photos are truly magnificant, I had such a hard time trying to decide which ones to use.

The photo discs are available for £5 and if you want one (and trust me, you do) see Jane Venworth at Arden tournament next weekend or any other tournament! You will also be able to purchase them via mail order and as soon as I have the details I will put them up.
